Standard Tops
This is the most structurally sound way to cut the top in an aquarium.
Custom size holes can be cut in order to fit special lighting needs.
Basic top structure with center brace and perimeter lip must be provided to ensure structural stability. Feeding holes and other special needs for filtration can be provided.

Open Tops
This is not the most structurally sound way of bracing an aquarium.
Open top tanks are for special use, such as when hot metal halide lighting will warp standard top aquariums.

Extra thick material is used for the front, back and sides of these tanks.
The five year limited warranty applies to these tanks, It does not cover aesthetic wear such as warping.

Open top tanks may warp over a matter of 3+ years. The warping will be minimal and will not affect the function of the aquarium.

Sumps/ Wet Dry Filters
Sumps are created for special use filtration applications. The custom design of these filters can become quite complex. Kritter Products can fabricate most of your ideas, you must be well informed in order to tell us what you need. The retail stores on our link would further be able to get your ideas on paper. Due to the nature of these filters, we have a pre designed format for a refugium sump, shown in the picture Refugium sump with skimmer bypass. This is our way to make this type of filter.

Wet Dry Filters are the most stable method of filtering a marine fish tank. We can fabricate these filters to fit special needs in tight spaces. Standard sizes are available, please contact a retail store to inquire about standard sizes.

Tank Features
Overflows carry water from the main tank reservoir to the sump reservoir. It can be located in several places inside or outside the aquarium. It is advisable to see this type of water skimming devise in place on an aquarium to understand what it looks like in different locations inside or outside the aquarium.

Internal Return/ drybox
This is the cleanest looking method of passing aquarium wires and pipes through the top and bottom of the tank. The internal return allows the hobbyist to hide all their wiring and tubing inside the tank instead of dangling outside the walls of the aquarium.

Lids and Hoods
Kritter Products Aquariums come with either a clear lid or Blk ABS hood unless otherwise noted. The hood can be used to house a fluorescent lamp fixture.

Removable Dividers
This style of divider can be removed from the aquarium without leaving an unsightly bracket on the viewing surface of the tank. It is removed through the normal holes of the tank and does not affect the structure of the top of the tank. This feature can not be installed in other brands of aquariums, It is a Kritter Products special item.

Home Installation
Kritter Products does installation of custom aquariums inside the walls of homes on occasion. We are limited on the amount of work we can do outside the shop environment.
Smaller on site jobs can be done by our company locally using our own employees. Larger jobs must be sub contracted to construction companies to work around the needs of the aquarium. This type of work can be quite tedious, but the results are extravagant.
